Greenhouse Pricing and Greenhouse Cost per Year for Core, Plus and Pro Plans

The short answer

Greenhouse does not publish a price. Its pricing page names three plans, Core, Plus and Pro, and every one ends in Get a demo, with the cost set by your hiring volume and organizational complexity. Vendr, which tracks real purchases, shows a median of $26,553 a year across 887 purchases, with deals from $10,218 to $73,846 and buyers saving about 16% off the first quote, read on 31 October 2026. Vendr still describes the tiers as Essential, Advanced and Expert, names Greenhouse no longer uses, so treat its tier level claims with care.

We opened greenhouse.com/pricing and Vendr's Greenhouse page on 31 October 2026. Greenhouse prints no dollar figure for any plan, so each row names who published the number and what it rests on.

Before you budget

What moves a Greenhouse quote up or down

Greenhouse prices the hiring organization, not one recruiter seat. Its own FAQ and Vendr agree on the same handful of drivers.

Plan level

The main driver

Core, Plus and Pro differ in automation, reporting and governance. Vendr states that the middle tier typically costs 30% to 50% more than the entry tier for comparable scope, but it uses the old names Essential and Advanced, so ask Greenhouse to price all three current plans side by side.

Hiring volume

Sizing basis

Greenhouse says volume and organizational complexity set the price. Vendr adds employee count and open requisitions. Bring a number for annual hires and open roles to the first call.

Sourcing Automation and texting

Plus and above

Both appear only from the Plus column. If outbound sourcing is the reason you are buying, you are pricing Plus, not Core.

Implementation and data migration

Services line

Moving jobs, candidates and history from another ATS is a project. Ask for each piece as a fixed fee.

Term length

Discount lever

Multi-year commitments usually buy a lower annual price in return for lock in. Get the year two price, the cap on increases and the renewal notice window in the order form.

What teams actually pay

Greenhouse cost per year against HireAgent, at three hiring shapes

Greenhouse prints no price, so the Greenhouse column uses Vendr's observed figures at the size each most plausibly describes. Neither column is a quote. Ours is the listed HireAgent plan on annual billing, and it runs next to the ATS you already have, so this is a comparison of what each adds, not a like for like swap.

Scenario Greenhouse (Vendr) HireAgent Worth knowing
10 roles open, 3 recruiters From about $10,218 a year at Vendr's low end, plus services $4,794 a year (Growth, 3 seats, up to 10 open roles, ATS integration) Greenhouse gives you the system of record and the interview process. HireAgent gives you the sourced, screened and ranked shortlist that fills it.
40 roles open, 10 recruiters Around $26,553 a year at Vendr's median, plus services $11,994 a year (Scale, 10 seats, up to 40 open roles, SSO) The two are not rivals at this size. Greenhouse tracks the pipeline, HireAgent fills the top of it, and it connects to Greenhouse through the Harvest API.
120 roles open, 30 recruiters Toward $73,846 a year at Vendr's high end, more with Pro governance $35,982 a year (Enterprise, 3 Scale units, up to 120 open roles) At this scale the ATS contract covers governance and audit. Sourcing and screening volume is a separate line, and that is the one an agent replaces.

Greenhouse figures are third party: Vendr median $26,553 and range $10,218 to $73,846 a year, read 31 Oct 2026, before implementation and services. HireAgent plans scale with seats, open roles and sourcing volume and are shown at the plan that fits each team.

What Greenhouse publishes, read on 31 October 2026

We opened greenhouse.com/pricing on 31 October 2026. It compares three plans, Core, Plus and Pro, by feature, and every plan ends in a Get a demo button. There is no dollar figure, per user rate, per employee rate or term anywhere on the page. The FAQ says the cost depends on the plan you choose, your hiring volume and organizational complexity, and the features you need.

The plan tiers are the useful part. Core includes sourcing and CRM, structured interview kits and scorecards, an AI notetaker, scheduling, reporting and SSO. Plus adds Sourcing Automation, texting, a BI connector and fraud and spam detection. Pro adds unlimited CRM events, an audit log, a developer sandbox and enterprise data and security controls.

One detail trips up buyers who research the price. Vendr's Greenhouse guide still calls the tiers Essential, Advanced and Expert. Greenhouse's own page calls them Core, Plus and Pro. Any cost note that quotes an Essential price is describing a plan name the vendor no longer shows, so confirm which plan a figure belongs to before you use it.

How much does Greenhouse cost?

Expect a low five figure annual contract for a mid-size employer. Vendr, which aggregates real software purchases, shows a median of $26,553 a year across 887 purchases, with observed deals from $10,218 to $73,846, read on 31 October 2026. Buyers saved about 16% on average against the first quote.

Then add services. Onboarding, data migration and training are reported as separate lines with no published figures. Our survey of AI recruiting software pricing shows how the same quote-first pattern runs through most of the category, and how rare a published rate card has become.

Does Greenhouse charge per user?

Greenhouse says neither. It prints no per user and no per employee rate, and its FAQ ties the cost to plan, hiring volume and complexity. A per seat price you find elsewhere is unsourced.

In practice that means adding a recruiter changes the quote less than adding a business unit, a brand or a region. Ask the account executive what the number assumes for annual hires, open requisitions and user count, and what happens to the price if any of them grows by half.

Is there a Greenhouse free trial?

We found none. greenhouse.com offers a demo request and a chat with an expert, with no free plan or self-serve purchase, read on 31 October 2026. Every evaluation runs through sales.

If you want proof before a contract, ask for a sandbox or a scoped pilot with agreed measures: time to fill, recruiter hours per hire and interview scheduling lag.

Greenhouse contract terms to check before you sign

Get the term, the year two price, the cap on increases and the renewal notice window written into the order form. Multi-year terms usually trade a lower annual price for lock in, and Vendr names a competing quote and fiscal quarter end as the strongest levers.

Ask which of Sourcing Automation, texting and the AI notetaker are inside the plan you are quoted, and which are metered. If you hire in New York City, AI that scores or ranks candidates also falls under Local Law 144, which requires a bias audit and candidate notice; our guide to AI hiring laws and compliance covers the obligations.

When Greenhouse is worth it, and what it does not do for you

Greenhouse is worth its price when you need a structured, auditable hiring process across several teams: interview kits, scorecards, scheduling rules, approvals and reporting that stand up to an executive or a regulator. At a $26,553 median that is a reasonable cost for a company hiring steadily.

It is not the tool that finds the people. Sourcing and CRM sit inside it, but the searching, the screening against your criteria and the first message still fall to your recruiters unless you add something on top. That is the gap an AI recruiting agent fills. HireAgent sources candidates against your criteria, screens and ranks them into an explainable shortlist, and pushes the ones you approve into Greenhouse. If you are considering replacing the ATS itself, our Ashby pricing page and the Greenhouse alternatives comparison cover the ATS side.

Need open roles filled, not another ATS contract?

HireAgent sources candidates against your criteria, screens and ranks them into an explainable shortlist, drafts the outreach and books the interviews, next to the ATS you already run. Plans start at $299 a month, published, with no implementation fee, and a human makes every hire.

FAQ

Greenhouse pricing questions, answered

The questions buyers actually ask before they sign.

How much does Greenhouse cost?

Greenhouse does not publish prices. Vendr showed a median of $26,553 a year across 887 purchases on 31 October 2026, with deals from $10,218 to $73,846. Onboarding, migration and training are reported as additional lines. A small employer on Core sits near the low end, a multi region employer on Pro above the median.

What are the Greenhouse pricing plans?

Core, Plus and Pro, read on greenhouse.com/pricing on 31 October 2026. Core covers sourcing and CRM, interview kits, scorecards, scheduling, reporting and SSO. Plus adds Sourcing Automation, texting and a BI connector. Pro adds an audit log, a developer sandbox and unlimited CRM events. None carries a printed price.

Does Greenhouse have a free trial?

No. greenhouse.com offers a demo request and an expert chat, with no free plan, trial or self-serve purchase, read on 31 October 2026. A scoped pilot is something buyers negotiate, not a default offer.

Why do Greenhouse cost estimates vary so much?

Because the deals differ in kind. A 50-person company on Core and a multi region employer on Pro are priced very differently, and third party figures rarely state the plan or headcount. Some still use the old tier names Essential and Advanced, so ask for the scope behind any number.

Is Greenhouse worth it for a small recruiting team?

Often yes if you need structured interviews and reporting, but it will not source or screen for you. A team with a few recruiters and 10 to 40 open roles gets more pipeline from software that finds, ranks and contacts candidates and then feeds an ATS it already runs.

What adds AI sourcing and screening on top of Greenhouse?

HireAgent sources, screens, ranks and drafts outreach from $299 a month or $1,794 a year, with no implementation fee, and connects to Greenhouse so approved candidates land in your pipeline. For interview kits, scorecards and governance across teams, Greenhouse remains the system of record.
