Ashby Pricing: Ashby ATS Cost by Company Size
Ashby pricing read at the source: Foundations runs $300 to $900 a month by headcount, not the flat $400 roundups quote. Add-ons, SSO, AI credits, Plus quotes.

The short answer
Ashby prices its ATS by company headcount, not by recruiter seat. The Foundations plan, for companies up to 100 employees, costs $300 a month at 1 to 10 employees, $400 at 11 to 25, $500 at 26 to 50, $700 at 51 to 75 and $900 at 76 to 100, with 10% off for an annual commitment. Above 100 employees the Plus and Enterprise plans are quoted. The $400 figure most pricing roundups quote is simply the band Ashby's calculator shows by default.

Ashby pricing, plan by plan
Ashby sells one product, the All-in-One platform (ATS, sourcing, CRM, scheduling and analytics), on three plans sized by how many people work at your company. A fourth product, Ashby Analytics, sits on top of an ATS you already run. Here is what the page publishes for US buyers.
| Plan | Who it is for | Published price | AI credits included |
|---|---|---|---|
| Foundations | Up to 100 employees | $300 to $900 a month by company size, 10% off annual | 1,500 a month |
| Plus | 101 to 1,000 employees | Quoted ("based on company size, usage, and commitment") | 2,500 per seat a year |
| Enterprise | 1,000+ employees | Quoted, with what Ashby calls a predictable pricing model | 12,500 per seat a year |
| Ashby Analytics | 100+ employees on Greenhouse or Lever | Quoted, based on usage | Not applicable |
Ashby's FAQ answers the question most buyers ask first: there is no per-module charge. "With our All-in-One solution, it's one price for the entire platform across ATS, Sourcing, CRM, Scheduling, and Analytics." Integrations are also free. What is not in the base price is covered further down, and it is where most real invoices grow.
How much does Ashby cost per month at each company size?
Ashby's pricing page shows a company-size dropdown on the Foundations card, and it opens on the 11 to 25 band, which is why $400 is the number repeated across the web. The dropdown carries five prices. The table below lists all of them with the annual figures worked out from Ashby's stated 10% annual saving.
| Company size | Monthly billing | Annual, per month | Annual, per year | Cost per employee at the top of the band |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 to 10 employees | $300 | $270 | $3,240 | $27 |
| 11 to 25 employees | $400 | $360 | $4,320 | $14.40 |
| 26 to 50 employees | $500 | $450 | $5,400 | $9 |
| 51 to 75 employees | $700 | $630 | $7,560 | $8.40 |
| 76 to 100 employees | $900 | $810 | $9,720 | $8.10 |
Two things follow from the ladder. Per employee, Ashby gets cheaper as you grow, from $27 a head at ten people to about $8 at a hundred, annual billing. But the bands step up sharply at 51 and 76 employees: hiring your 51st person adds $200 a month, a 40% jump on the plan price, even though nothing about your recruiting changed. If you are at 48 people and about to hire five, budget for the next band now.
Ashby's startup FAQ adds the rule that governs all of this: "Our startup pricing model is based on the size of your organization at that point of purchase, not on a seat or talent team basis." Pricing is reassessed every year. So a 40-person company that signs an annual plan pays the 26 to 50 rate for twelve months even if it grows to 70, and then renews at the 51 to 75 rate.
What does Ashby cost above 100 employees?
Past 100 employees Ashby moves you to a custom quote on Plus, and the public figure disappears. The best independent read is Vendr's buyer data, which shows a median Ashby contract of $22,896 a year across 59 purchases, with a range from $7,950 to $118,920 and an average negotiated saving of about 21%. That median is more than twice the top of the Foundations ladder, which tells you the typical Ashby buyer in that data set is on Plus or Enterprise, not the self-serve plan.
Budget for two things if you are close to the line. First, Plus meters AI credits per seat per year (2,500) rather than per account per month (1,500 on Foundations), so a Plus account with three seats gets 7,500 credits a year against 18,000 a year on Foundations. Second, a few items that are included on Foundations become paid add-ons on Plus, which is the reverse of what most buyers expect.
What costs extra on Ashby?
The plan price covers the platform. These are the lines on Ashby's own comparison table that can add to the invoice.
| Item | Foundations | Plus | Enterprise |
|---|---|---|---|
| SSO (SAML or OIDC) | $100 a month | Included | Included |
| AI Notetaker | Paid add-on | Paid add-on | Paid add-on |
| Sourcing email lookups | 200 a month included, more as a paid add-on | Same | Same |
| Candidate texting (SMS, US and Canada) | 1,000 messages a month, then $90 per 1,000 | 2,000 per seat a year, then $90 per 1,000 | 3,000 per seat a year, then $90 per 1,000 |
| Candidate data enrichment | Included | Paid add-on | Paid add-on |
| AI auto-scheduler, scheduling requests, calendar holds | Included | Advanced Scheduling add-on | Included |
| Advanced diversity analytics | Not available | Paid add-on | Included |
| Additional AI credits | Can be bought, price not published | Same | Same |
| Implementation | Onboarding and customer success included | Included | Enterprise Implementation Service for the largest accounts |
SSO is the one to notice on a small plan. On the 11 to 25 band billed annually, $100 a month of SSO adds $1,200 to a $4,320 plan, about 28%. If your security team requires SSO for every SaaS tool, it belongs in the first quote.
The SMS line is easy to overbuy. If your recruiters already text candidates from a shared business phone system with texting, keep that number for candidate conversations and use Ashby's allowance for the automated reminders only.
Payment terms matter for cash planning. Monthly plans must be paid by credit card. Annual plans can be paid by card, direct deposit or wire. Cancellation goes through support or your customer success manager rather than a self-serve button.
Is Ashby's AI included in the price?
Mostly, yes, and this is where Ashby differs from the staffing platforms. The AI features on the comparison table, including AI candidate search, AI outreach personalization, AI-assisted application review, AI talent rediscovery, the AI assistant and custom AI agents, carry a tick on all three plans, Foundations included. Compare that with Bullhorn, whose AI search and match starts on the quoted Pro tier, or Gem, which keeps its AI suite on Enterprise.
The limit is metering, not access. AI-assisted application review, fraud detection and talent rediscovery draw on the AI credits in the plan, 1,500 a month on Foundations. The AI Notetaker is a paid add-on everywhere.
What the AI inside Ashby does not do is go and get candidates who are not in your system. Its sourcing tools are a Chrome extension, Boolean and AI-generated search filters over profiles you add, 200 email lookups a month and sequences you build. Someone still has to find the people. For a team that hires a handful of engineers a quarter from inbound applicants, that is fine. For a team whose roles draw few qualified applicants, the ATS is not the bottleneck.
What an Ashby team actually pays to fill its roles
The Ashby bill is usually the smaller part of recruiting spend for a company under 100 people. Take a 40-person US startup hiring eight people over the next year with one in-house recruiter.
| Setup | Annual cost | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Ashby Foundations, 26 to 50 band, annual | $5,400 | ATS, CRM, scheduling, reporting, inbound AI review. The recruiter still sources by hand |
| Ashby plus SSO | $6,600 | The same, with SAML or OIDC sign-in |
| Ashby plus HireAgent Growth, annual | $13,392 | Ashby as the system of record; HireAgent sources, screens and ranks candidates, sends outreach and books interviews for up to 10 open roles, and pushes shortlisted candidates into Ashby |
| One agency placement at a 20% contingency fee on a $150,000 salary | $30,000 | A single hire |
HireAgent connects to Ashby through Ashby's API on the Growth and Scale plans: it pulls applicants from an Ashby job to score them against your role brief, and pushes the candidates you approve back into Ashby, so your pipeline and reporting stay in one place. Growth is $799 a month, or $666 a month billed annually, for three seats and up to ten open roles. Each candidate on the shortlist carries a match score with the evidence behind it, and a person makes every hiring decision.
If you are still choosing the ATS itself, compare the per-seat model on the agency side too: our Recruiterflow pricing breakdown shows how a seat-priced ATS compares for a small team, and the AI recruiting software pricing page lays out where the sourcing and screening layer sits across the market.
Common questions
How much does Ashby cost? For companies up to 100 employees, Ashby Foundations costs $300 to $900 a month depending on headcount, or $270 to $810 a month on an annual plan. Companies above 100 employees get a custom quote on Plus or Enterprise; Vendr's buyer data puts the median contract at $22,896 a year.
Does Ashby charge per user? Not on Foundations. Ashby prices startups by total company headcount at the time of purchase, "not on a seat or talent team basis", so adding a recruiter or hiring manager does not change the bill. On Plus and Enterprise some allowances, such as AI credits and SMS, are counted per seat.
Does Ashby have a free trial or free plan? Ashby's pricing page lists no free plan and no self-serve trial. Every plan leads to a "Get in Touch" form, and startups can "get started within minutes" after that conversation.
Is Ashby cheaper than Greenhouse? For a company under 100 employees, Ashby is the one that publishes a price, $300 to $900 a month. Greenhouse does not publish its pricing, so a like-for-like comparison needs a Greenhouse quote. Above 100 employees both are quoted.
What is the Ashby pricing model for startups? Headcount bands, set at purchase and reassessed annually, with one price for every module. Crossing 51 or 76 employees moves you into the next band at renewal, and crossing 100 moves you to custom pricing.
