The short answer
The right Workable alternative depends on what you are replacing. For an ATS with a published price, Ashby starts at $300 a month for a company of up to 10 people and Manatal at $15 a user. For an agency, Loxo and Recruiterflow put an ATS and CRM in one seat at $149 a user. If Workable's AI credits are the part of the bill you dislike, or the pipeline is thin because nobody has time to search, an AI recruiting agent such as HireAgent sources and screens for a flat plan from $299 a month beside the ATS you keep.
Workable prints its prices: Standard $299, Premier $599 and Enterprise $719 a month, read on 4 November 2026, with the AI agents sold separately in credits. Every other figure here was read on that vendor's own page and is covered in our pricing pages.
Workable alternatives compared on price and what they replace
Workable sells an ATS, careers pages and light HR tools in one account, then prices its Sourcing, Screening and Engagement agents as usage. People look for an alternative for two different reasons. Some want a cheaper or simpler ATS. Others find that the AI work is metered and the cost climbs with volume. A different ATS fixes the first and rarely the second.
Workable's own numbers are on our Workable pricing page: $3,588 a year on Standard, $7,188 on Premier, $8,628 on Enterprise, and AI credits at $0.095 to $0.12 each. Sourcing a passive candidate costs 2 credits, so $0.19 to $0.24 per candidate before the subscription.
| Alternative | Best for | Price we could read | Published or quote only |

| Manatal | Small agencies and in-house teams that want AI scoring cheaply | Professional $15, Enterprise $35, Enterprise Plus $55 per user a month, annual | Published |
| Greenhouse | Companies that want structured interview kits and scorecards | Core, Plus and Pro with no price, Vendr median $26,553 a year | Quote only |
| Lever | Teams that want ATS and CRM in one platform | No price, Vendr median $15,536 a year | Quote only |

| Recruiterflow | Agencies running outbound sequences and client work | $149 per user monthly, $119 on annual billing | Platform published, AI quoted |
| HireAgent | Any team that wants candidates sourced, screened and ranked for open roles | $299, $799 and $1,999 a month, or $1,794, $4,794 and $11,994 a year | Published |
Which Workable alternative fits which team
You want an ATS with a price you can read
Workable already meets that bar, which narrows the field. Ashby is the closest like for like for a growing in-house team and prices by company size, so a 40-person company sits at $500 a month, or $5,400 a year with the annual discount. Our Ashby pricing page shows every band. Manatal is the budget end at $15 to $55 a user, lighter on structured interviewing. Against Workable's $3,588 Standard, only Manatal for a small team is clearly cheaper.
You want a deeper interview process
If the reason to move is scorecards, interview kits and an audit trail across several teams, Greenhouse is the usual answer and it is quote only. Our Greenhouse pricing page shows the Vendr median of $26,553 a year, several times Workable's Standard. Lever pricing sits lower at $15,536 for an ATS and CRM bundle.
You run a recruiting or staffing agency
Workable is built for an employer hiring for itself. An agency also needs client records, placements and billing. Loxo and Recruiterflow put an ATS and a CRM in one seat at a published price. Our Loxo vs Recruiterflow breakdown goes through the differences.
The ATS is fine, but the AI bill or the pipeline is the problem
This is the case most Workable alternative searches miss. Workable's agents spend credits, so the bill grows with how hard you source and screen. And whichever agent you use, someone still reviews, messages and schedules. If a recruiter spends the week searching, swapping the ATS saves the license and none of the time.
HireAgent takes that work on a flat plan. You describe the role and the criteria, it sources candidates, scores each against what you asked for with the evidence attached, drafts the approach and books interviews with people who reply. It connects to the ATS you already run, so approved candidates land in your pipeline. Plans start at $299 a month for one team, $4,794 a year for three seats and ten open roles, and there is no implementation fee.
What a Workable replacement costs at three volumes
Take a company with 10 open roles, three recruiters and 2,000 sourced candidates a year. Workable Standard is $3,588 plus about $480 in credits beyond the 3,000 included, roughly $4,068. Ashby for a 40-person company is $5,400 at the annual rate. Manatal Enterprise for three users is $1,260. HireAgent Growth is $4,794 a year and sits next to whichever ATS you keep.
At 10,000 sourced candidates a year, Workable Premier runs about $9,188 once credits are counted, against HireAgent Scale at $11,994 with SSO and room for 40 open roles. The gap narrows as volume rises because credits scale and a plan price does not. The ATS and the agent do different jobs, so a team that needs both should price both.
Questions to ask before you switch
Moving off an ATS is a project. Ask whether your candidate history and tags export in full, how long migration takes and who does it, and whether pipeline stages and templates carry over. If you screen with AI, ask whether the vendor has the bias audit documentation New York City Local Law 144 requires; our guide to AI hiring laws and compliance covers the obligations.
If the work that eats your week is broader than hiring, say research, lead generation and reports, an AI agent that takes business tasks end to end handles those while HireAgent stays on recruiting.
Workable alternatives questions, answered
What are the main Workable competitors?
For in-house hiring the closest are Ashby, Greenhouse and Lever. For agencies they are Loxo, Recruiterflow and Bullhorn. Manatal competes on price. None of them sources and ranks candidates for you the way an AI recruiting agent does, which is why many teams run an agent beside the ATS.
Is there a cheaper alternative to Workable?
Yes, for small teams. Manatal Professional is $15 a user a month. Ashby Foundations is $300 a month for up to 10 people, close to Workable Standard at $299. Neither matches Workable's bundle of ATS, HR tools and careers pages one for one.
Does Workable publish its pricing?
Yes. Standard is $299, Premier $599 and Enterprise $719 a month, read on 4 November 2026. The AI agents are priced separately in credits, from $0.095 to $0.12 each.
Can I use HireAgent with Workable?
HireAgent works beside your ATS and pushes approved candidates into your pipeline. You keep Workable as the system of record and add sourcing, screening and ranking on top of it.
What is the best Workable alternative for a small team?
For a small in-house team that wants a published ATS price, Ashby or Manatal. For a team whose real bottleneck is finding and screening candidates, an AI recruiting agent beside the ATS you already have is usually the better spend than a new ATS.
See HireAgent source and shortlist your candidates
Describe a role and HireAgent sources candidates, screens them against your criteria, and returns a match-scored shortlist with evidence, then drafts outreach and schedules interviews. The agent does the legwork, you make the hire.
